We've all pretty much decided there’s something wrong with us, because we keep waking up suuuper super early and start getting tired around 3 in the afternoon. Apparently it’s jetlag, because 3pm is 8pm at home. So that would actually make sense, I guess. But I don’t like waking up so early. And I can’t stay up anymore... as late as I used to, I mean. I think I might have to take a nap in the afternoon so I’ll stay up late, and hopefully catch a regular sleep schedule soon, because this is ridiculous.
So Ele woke me up at 6 am this morning because we were supposed to meet outside at like 7:10 or so to go take the bus to Kenroku-En. It’s a garden next to Kanazawa Castle, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I took a bunch of pictures, but accidentally deleted some of them >.> Sorry! I’m in a lot of other people’s pictures though, so I’ll steal those and probably put them up on facebook. I’ll put some of them here.
So, we woke up and I had jelly food for breakfast ^.^ I love that stuff, and I know it’s probably like some kind of diet food or whatever, but it’s just so much fun to eat ^. ^ (last part of that sentence is what she said ;] ) Then we got ready to leave and OMG so cold outside today. It was pretty ridiculous. Like, I thought my fingers were going to fall out, and I was so sad that I didn’t have any of my human heaters around, because they’re all still in Hawaii. But seriously, it was freezing ass balls. So we walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus and while we were waiting this lady walked by who was walking her dogs and she was wearing a raincoat. AND SO WERE HER DOGS!!! I was so ridiculously entertained by this. Mostly because I miss my pets <3 So then we got on the bus and went down to the actual city city of Kanazawa, and met up with Sensei and went to Kenroku-En. Where it was still very, very cold. But very beautiful. There are so many people I want to go back with.
Okay Kai, you’re never going to let me live this down, especially because of all that shit I give you for leaving Slava at Alter. So, we’re walking through Kenroku-En and it’s really cold, so I go to put on Slava and he’s NOT THERE. I fucking panicked. Like serious kind. I almost started crying. Then I ran back through the park through all the tourists looking for Slava, and it felt very Asian, because in all those shows they’re always running around looking for something. So I was almost freaking out and I could actually feel my heartbeat for once and then I FOUND HIM!! I was carrying Slava so I guess he slipped out of my arm and fell onto a bush. I almost cried with relief when I found him, too. And then I spent the rest of the day wearing Slava because it was so cold. God, it was like I lost my kid in the mall or something.
So we left Kenroku-En and we were walking down the street and it was freaking cold as shit. Our teacher bought us some takoyaki to try, and it was amazingly delicious, but suuuper hot. Oh. A note to how cold our shower was the other day – even though the water was like freshly melted snow, there was still steam in the shower. It was coming off our bodies. That’s messed up. It was so cold today that I could see my breath. I should’ve worn my disco pants >.>
So we’re all gathered at the corner and then we realized that Rachel was missing. So Fujikawa Sensei went to go look for her while we waited in a store, because it was a little warmer in there. When we finally found her like half an hour later or so we walked down to the bottom of the hill and took the bus to the geisha headquarters of Kanazawa. There we got to go into these preserved houses that the geisha would live and work in, and we got to walk around and see inside. It was pretty cool to see how everything worked. The stairs were SO steep. It was really ridiculous. But very educational. Everything was so elaborate, especially the geisha hairpieces. After we finished that, we caught the bus back to the city and had some DELICIOUS noms.
It was fried shrimp and egg over rice and udon. Soooo delicious. Then Ele and I went out exploring for a little bit before we came back to the dorm. We caught the bus all by ourselves ^.^ And we talked to the lady in the manga/internet café place in nihongo! So we have mad skills J Except not really. Then we came back to the dorm, and now it’s about 4:30 and there are 7 of us up here in the lounge interneting. Mama-chan says we’re all going to dinner somewhere.. o.o I think Ele and I are going to the hyaku en store tonight, since we never went last night. And… I think that’s all for now. My toes are cold. I want my pets.
Jaa <3
